what's your sign? ;)

what is your sign? mine is Aries the ram. here is what one book says about me:

" ..you have more energy and goodwill to share than joan rivers, and are sometimes just as tactless. the strong headed nature of the ram will get you into unusual and surprising situations, so caution may be a word you won't hear until to it's tol late. fortunately, your charm will enable you to back-pedal with grace...."

what is your sign? tell me and will tell you what this book says about you. it also has a friendship chart...to see how well we get along.

NOOOOOOoooooo.....

i guess i need to take his picture out of my wallet now...

Lance Bass of `N Sync reveals he's gay

Lance Bass, band member of 'N Sync, says he's gay and in a "very stable" relationship with a reality show star. Bass, who formed 'N Sync with Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick, tells People magazine that he didn't earlier disclose his sexuality because he didn't want to affect the group's popularity.
"I knew that I was in this popular band and I had four other guys' careers in my hand, and I knew that if I ever acted on it or even said (that I was gay), it would overpower everything," he tells the magazine.
'N Sync is known for a string of hits including "Bye Bye Bye" and "It's Gonna Be Me." The band went on hiatus in 2002. Bass has also found headlines for undertaking astronaut training and failing to raise money for a trip into space.
Bass says he wondered if his coming out could prompt "the end of 'N Sync." He explains, "So I had that weight on me of like, `Wow, if I ever let anyone know, it's bad.' So I just never did."
The singer says he's in a "very stable" relationship with 32-year-old actor Reichen Lehmkuhl, winner of season four of CBS' "Amazing Race."
Bass and Fatone, 29, are developing a sitcom pilot inspired by the screwball comedy "The Odd Couple," in which his character will be gay.
"The thing is, I'm not ashamed — that's the one thing I went to say," Bass says. "I don't think it's wrong, I'm not devastated going through this. I'm more liberated and happy than I've been my whole life. I'm just happy."

my great grandpa

my dad came down to visit sunday and told me about some of the family past. my great grandpa Arthur S. Tompkins was a very cool man that i hope to meet in heaven one day. here is part of an article that is about my grandpa:

Arthur S. Tompkins, or Judge Tompkins, who served on the Supreme Court from 1909 through 1935 and was also a member of Congress, was best known for competing in matinee races conducted on Goshen’s half-mile track in New York. He had a long standing racing rivalry with Judge A.H.F. Seeger and their races were often billed as the ‘Battle of the Judges’. Their great rivalry began in 1912 and lasted for over a quarter of a century until the death of Judge Tompkins in 1938. Season after season, Tompkins with one horse or another returned to the contest. Sometimes, he won, more often not. The engagements were extended by request to other matinee tracks in Orange County, NY, and elsewhere, then to county fairs. Sometimes, the embattled judges raced for a bull calf, a heifer, or a sheep. With the decline of matinee racing after the first World War there was a tapering off of hostilities between the judges, but in 1930, “The Judges Trotting Classic for the Ninth Judicial District” was instituted as an annual event and the battle of the judges resumed until the death of Judge Tompkins ended one of the greatest harness racing rivalries in the history of the sport.

my poor nose is burnt :(

note to self: if i am going to be out in the sun, i should put on sunscreen more than twice. my arms, back, and nose are burnt but my nose is burnt the worse. sunday i woke up and this...ok...if you really want the gross story you can email me.

anyways...this weekend was really cool for me. i have always struggled with knowing my role. where do i fit in other people's lives? am i someone that nobody wants? this weekend helped me get over that. there was a little problem with person A not showing up on time. some people were a little mad at person A and didn't want to talk to person A. well blah blah blah and i can't remember exactly what was said but it all boils down to that people think i am the diplomatic one. if there is a problem then i am the one to ease the tension. you don't know how happy that made me. knowing that i they all thought i was good at something was really uplifting. what a great weekend.

ps now don't think i am saying that everyone was seething with rage and would have killed person A if they had a chance because they weren't.

Prevent (or Cause) Do You Know the Hip-Hop Lingo at LiquidGeneration!

screw you rain

last week we were asked if we could watch a couple's house on the lake. we were invited to "live" there and take care of stuff. so of course we said yes. we were excited because we could swim everyday, get tan, invite friends out ( they said it was ok ) and just a have a fun time. well, we get back in town monday and head out there monday night. it rained a little but that was ok. now it is wednesday and it is still raining! i want to swim! i was really looking forward to this and now it just sucks. it seems like a lot of the things that i really look forward to either don't happen or suck beyond belief. oh well...at least i don't have my head caught in a bear trap :)

that intoxicating smell

this weekend i went to The Great Escape ( comic book store ) on bardstown rd. i have probably talked about this before but i am going to say this anyways. when my mom and dad got divorced he moved into some crappy apartments down dixie hwy ( one time there were a ton of cop cars and a police helicopter outside an apartment down the street ). i can still remember the pigeon sitting outside the window. needless to say we didn't like staying there ( i would visit every other weekend ) so we would go out and do stuff. we would go play frisbee golf, ride bikes, or go street hiking. sometimes we would jump on the number 18 bus and go downtown. we would switch buses and finally end up around the gallaria ( the mall downtown ). we would then walk all the way down bardstown rd to the comic book store. we would stop at different places along the way and just have fun. sometimes we would buy bouncy balls and try to not bounce them in the street. we would try out different places to eat ( i didn't like the twig and leaf at the time...i need to try it again ) and look at places to shop. reaching the comic shop was a feat all in its self. when you walk in, you can smell the comics ( just as it did back then ). the guy at the counter gives you a , " hey man" and you walk on. the walls are covered with expensive comics and collectible toys. on one wall is a rack where all the new comics are. they have everything from archie to spawn. in one of the corners is where famous people would come and sign the comic books. along the wall and in the center are bins full of comic books. each comic has a plastic bag and some even have cardboard backings. you want it, they have it. if you have g.i joe numbers 34 and 36 but and you need 35, they probably have it. by the counter is a little walkway where you can go to the other side of the store. here they have movies, cds, and trading cards ( i only looked at the cards on that side ). after i payed for my comics they would put them in a brown bag and i would go back out into the brigh sunlight. i don't know why but that brown bag was special. it made me feel like i had just bought something really cool and nobody else was alowed to see. it made me feel cool. after that we would walk as far as i could go until my legs felt like they would give out. we would stop and get on the bus. i would usually either read one of my comics there or just fall asleep.

those are some of the best memories i have of my childhood. my dad finally remarried and moved to texas ( i stayed in louisville ) while my mom remarried and i got a crappy step-dad that was verbally abusive ( he has become better now that i am grown and he knows i won't take any crap from him ).

one song...just one

so if you had to pick one song to represent you what would you pick? i am trying to think what i would pick. i will update in a little bit and let you know. don't be shy about posting :)

ok..my song right now would have to be Jack Johnson's Breakdown from his album In Between Dreams...the song is all about taking your time and not letting everything pass you by so fast.

blog hopping...nothing wrong with that

have you ever gone blog hopping ( b.h. )? if you don't know what that is ( i think i made it up ) then i will explain. b.h. is when you start at a blog and follow links to get to another blog. you just keep going and going until you want to stop. you would be suprised to see how people know each other or what common instrests two people might have. you never know who you might meet.

i wonder what i want to be when i grow up? i like working with computers but i don't think i will be at this job forever. it gets old ( at least for me ) pretty quick. i have always thought ( don't know if i have told anyone this before ) of being a firefighter but now that i have a family i don't think that would be a good idea. i just like the idea of really helping people. i doubt it, but maybe i will follow this someday.

what is today?

this morning i got in the car to go work, stopped at the end of the driveway, realized that i forgot to put the trash can out, and realized that the trash comes on monday, not wednesday! at least i had a good time tuesday. we went swimming with the taylor's at greg's relitive's ( his aunt and uncle and cousins ) house. one of the highlights ( to many to list ) was the homeade bannana ice creame. i am not a big bannanna ice cream fan but this was amazing. the only ice cream that i have had that is better is my grandpa's.

wow...i don't know why but all of a sudden i am really tired. i think i need to go walk around or do something.

i hope everyone had a good 4th and didn't blow themselves up

you itch

what a good weekend. friday i played a game called outpost. it is kind of like a giant game of tag with bases and more rules. we played in the park and the boundries were everything but the baseball fields. we started around 7pm and played till 9:45pm. running through the woods in the dark is very dangerous. it is also a good way to walk through plants that you have no idea what they are. for example, i think i got poison ivy ( i was wearing shorts like a fool ). luckily i have itched the crap out of it and it hasn't spread. my body is usually good at resisting poison ivy. maybe i am a mutant ( that would be really cool ). so anyways....that was fun. saturday we went to an outdoor wedding. i could barely feel that it was a cool 101 degrees outside! i had fun though. sunday i took a short nap and played. today i had to go to work. nobody in the computer room wants to be here but we are. i need to put some pictures up here..a little eye candy. later

if you like fireworks, what is your favorite kind? my favorite would have to be jumping jacks. i love lighting one in my hand and throwing it right before it goes off. if you time it right you can really get some distance. i might have to go buy some tonight.
