friday at last

i am tired.

night air by teddy geiger

The night air breathes
But not so easy as before
Did you notice
Did you take the time to listen
To my breath or to my words
When I spoke I explained my feelings
And my reasons for the way I love you
I'm getting to the point
And I feel like I do
Even more now that I'm leaving
Well, I feel just like I do when I'm with you
And she's so sweet and
I'm leaving thinkin
how I'm barely breathin
Notice how your every look gives me tingles
And I wonder if your listening to what I'm thinking
We won't fade away
And I feel like
I do even more now that I'm leaving
Well, I feel just like I do when I'm with you
And I feel like I do even more now that
I'm leavin you I'm leaving you
So what am I to do
My feelings have not fallen away
Your my every thought here
Everything will go on it's own way
Everything is ok we can try to make it
Everything will go, it's alright baby
My feelings have not passed away
You're my every thought here, everything

what i have learned

I have been reading a book called Raising Cole. The book is written by a dad that looses a son in a car wreck. This book is about the relationship he had with both of his sons. The book is about love. If somebody you loved died today would you have said everything you would want to say to them? Or would you have want to bring them back for that one last hug and “ I love you “? People don’t like to think that about death. It is one of the few things we can’t control. Nobody knows when they will die. This could be the last blog I ever write ( I hope not ). One of the most important lessons I learned is that you shouldn’t worry about how much somebody loves you, worry about how much you love them. Do you think Jesus cared about how much people loved him? No. If Jesus did care then he would have never died for us. We need to live our lives like each day might be our last. We need to let people in our lives know how much they truly mean to us. To any friends that I have that read this I want you to know this…you are truly important in my life. I am thankful that I have had the chance to know you. I am glad that you have changed my life. I love you

lets try this again

i finally got to spend my hard earned birthday money on saturday. i got 2 games ( one was only $8 ), an ipod adapter for the car, some shorts that don't fit ( i really need to get into shape ) and the new BoySetsFire ( BSF ) cd. it starts out with nathan singing acoustic and then switches into classic BSF. they are masters and mixing singing and screaming together. the best part about the cd is that it makes you think. plus it came with dvd that has about 13 songs, old and new, on it. i would bet anybody $5 that i can find at least one song of theirs that you would like. i will post some lyrics later.

boysetsfire...i missed you

i went to paducha on saturday to spend my hard earned b-day money. i knew i wanted to get a game, a cd, and some shorts. i ended up getting a cheap xbox game and a game for my pc. i also got some shorts that don't fit ( i really need to get into shape ) and a car adapter for my ipod. the best find was the BoySetsFire cd i found. i knew they were going to put a new one out soon but i didn't know when. the first 30 seconds made me want to cry. this cd is amazing!! and it also comes with a dvd with about 13 live songs on it ( old and new songs ). i am sure that i will be posting more about this cd because. incase you don't know anything about boysetsfire, here is a quick rundown:

- have been around for over 10 years
- one of the first bands to do emotional hardcore ( singing and screaming mixed perfectly )
- very political but at the same time it doesn't feel like they are trying to ram their views down your throat.

here is a picture i took of lead singer nathan gray at krazyfest in lousiville ( a don't know how many years ago it was )

cursed present

have you ever received a present that you didn't want but decided to keep anyways? i have just ran into this scenerio again. last weekend my dad got me an iPOD nano. i think they are cool but they aren't big enough for me. i have way over 1,500 songs at work alone. anyways...so i decided to keep it because my dad got it for me and he was pretty proud of himself. it has grown on me and now i want to customize the crap out of it. i already bought a case and i will probably get a car adapter today also. this unwanted now wanted present is costing me money! that is money i could use to buy 1) junk food, 2) video games, 3) a new pair of shorts, 4) probably some more games , 5) random stuff that i don't need. do you see my problem? can you feel my pain?

*actually i don't need any of that stuff i just mentioned...except for the shorts

check it out

here is a page of Grey's quotes.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0413573/quotes

here is my favorite so far:
Dr. Meredith Grey: A couple of hundred years ago, Benjamin Franklin shared with the world the secret of his success. Never leave that till tomorrow, he said, which you can do today. This is the man who discovered electricity. You think more people would listen to what he had to say. I don't know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I'd have to say it has a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, sometimes the fear is just of making a decision, because what if you're wrong? What if you're making a mistake you can't undo? The early bird catches the worm. A stitch in time saves nine. He who hesitates is lost. We can't pretend we hadn't been told. We've all heard the proverbs, heard the philosophers, heard our grandparents warning us about wasted time, heard the damn poets urging us to seize the day. Still sometimes we have to see for ourselves. We have to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today's possibility under tomorrow's rug until we can't anymore. Until we finally understand for ourselves what Benjamin Franklin really meant. That knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and even the biggest failure, even the worst, beat the hell out of never trying.

just thinking

i was reading that article below and i realized that i don't know my grandpa near as well as i should. i know that he is a great man and if i turn out to be just 1/10 of what he is then i will be proud. the little history that i know is this:

- he was a P.O.W. in WWII. the japanese held him captive and a bunch of other american workers. they were going to be executed but luckily for him america dropped the bomb and japan quit. he also lost part of his hearing because he was to close to a tank when it fired. i read and article that the japanese made me write to america. it says that he was treated good, got hot meals, and no hurt. we know now that was a big fat lie.
- he has always been there for his wife, kids, and grandkids. i can't remember a time in my life when grandpa didn't care and help. even to this day he will slip me gas money.
- he values hard work. up till about 80 yrs old he still cut his own grass. even after a knee replacement he wanted to cut it. he never sits back and watches. if i am up cleaning his gutters, he will be right there on the ground trying to help.
- he loves nebraska football. my grandma and grandpa even have a nebraska room. hmm...i am getting an idea....

like i said, i don't know a lot about grandpa but what i do know i cherish. i hope i get to learn more.

above and beyond

this is from a guy who writes comics. the site is www.nuklearpower.com .

Michael J. NovoselRank and organization: Chief Warrant Officer, U.S. Army, 82d Medical Detachment, 45th Medical Company, 68th Medical Group.Place and date: Kien Tuong Province, Republic of Vietnam, 2 October 1969. Entered service at: Kenner, La. Born: 3 September 1922, Etna, Pa. Died: 2 April 2006,Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DCCitation: For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty. CWO Novosel, 82d Medical Detachment, distinguished himself while serving as commander of a medical evacuation helicopter. He unhesitatingly maneuvered his helicopter into a heavily fortified and defended enemy training area where a group of wounded Vietnamese soldiers were pinned down by a large enemy force. Flying without gunship or other cover and exposed to intense machinegun fire, CWO Novosel was able to locate and rescue a wounded soldier. Since all communications with the beleaguered troops had been lost, he repeatedly circled the battle area, flying at low level under continuous heavy fire, to attract the attention of the scattered friendly troops. This display of courage visibly raised their morale, as they recognized this as a signal to assemble for evacuation. On 6 occasions he and his crew were forced out of the battle area by the intense enemy fire, only to circle and return from another direction to land and extract additional troops. Near the end of the mission, a wounded soldier was spotted close to an enemy bunker. Fully realizing that he would attract a hail of enemy fire, CWO Novosel nevertheless attempted the extraction by hovering the helicopter backward. As the man was pulled on aboard, enemy automatic weapons opened fire at close range, damaged the aircraft and wounded CWO Novosel. He momentarily lost control of the aircraft, but quickly recovered and departed under the withering enemy fire. In all, 15 extremely hazardous extractions were performed in order to remove wounded personnel. As a direct result of his selfless conduct, the lives of 29 soldiers were saved. The extraordinary heroism displayed by CWO Novosel was an inspiration to his comrades in arms and reflect great credit on him, his unit, and the U.S. Army.

"...they look like big, strong hands don't they..."

i love my job. the best part about being me is that i never know what i will be doing that day at work. one day i might build a computer shelf, the next day i am climbing over a wall to unlock a door. one day i might be installing windows on a computer and the next day i am jumping in a dumpster. oh the life of a computer tech. today i am installing keyboard drawers. if you ignore the slight drill hole in the top of the desk ( found out real quick the screw was to long ) then i have done pretty good. nothing says filling like a mouth full of sawdust.
