Kong!

WARNING: if you plan on seeing this movie don't read this, it might give something away

so last night i went with brandon to see king kong. i knew going in to it that it was going to be visualy amazing. what i didn't realize is that it would also be emotional. those that dont' know, i haev a history of falling asleep during late viewings. granted it was only 7:40 but the movie is 3 hours long! i was destined to fall asleep. well...i didn't. this movie kept me awake and captivated the entire time. the entire movie i didn't know who i should feel sorry for. the entire movie kong wants what he can't have. in the end he figures this out and lets go. his love for ann is so strong that he would rather die without her than have her get hurt. then you have jack. jack loves ann and ann loves jack. jack spends almost the entire movie trying to rescue ann from kong. so this builds a great hate between kong and jack. while in the jungle, i was cheering for jack to rescue ann. but as soon as he got to her i wanted kong to smash him. kong lives in a harsh enviroment and needs ann. ann is his only light in that unforgiving land. jack could go back and have anyone he wants. but ann is a human and kong is a 25+ foot gorilla....it won't work. then you have carl. at first you just think he is just a guy that needs a break. that this is going to be his one chance at fame. then you come to think that he is a jerk. then you come to despise him, to hate him. he is the one that gets the idea to caputre kong. he doesn't see kong as caring, intelligent ( he is ), majestic being that should be left alone. he sees kong as a money. as a way HE can get rich at kongs expense. the hight of his arrogance and greed is when he shows kong for the first time in new york and gets a girl that looks like ann to appear in front of kong. that is when kong looses it. he figures it would be better to fight and search for his love than to be tormented and lonely for the rest of his life. at this point i saw everyone ( except jack, ann, and kong ) as evil. why couldn't they just leave him alone? he finally finds ann and i think for one of the first times of his life finds true peace. he is perfectly content on just sitting there on the ice with ann. as most people know this is not the end of the story. it ends with kong falling from the top of the empire state building ( shot by planes ). wow...i am even getting teary eyed just remembering this. this is a great movie, very beautiful.
